The Fraternal Order of Eagles along with the Ladies Auxiliary and Eagle Riders are joining forces to host a fundraiser for brother Bill Kelly who is battling cancer. A yard sale begins at 8 a.m. Saturday. In the aerie entertainment: 50/50 raffles, food and auction begin at 3 p.m. Donations of new or gently used items are most appreciated and can be dropped at the aerie at 13 S. Dixie Highway daily after noon.
Registration for a poker run opens at 9 a.m., and breakfast will be available. Cost: $5 riders and passengers. Those who don’t ride are invited to travel via personal vehicle. The group leaves the aerie at 11 a.m., with stops at Daddle Peppers, Mardi Gras, Giggling Gator, Bar None, End Zone and then back to the aerie. All proceeds will go the brother Bill to help defray growing medical costs.
■ AAUW Literature Study Group meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Southeast Branch Library, 6670 U.S. 1 South. In addition to book suggestions for the 2012-13 season, members are to bring a bag lunch and beverage. Dessert will be provided. Information: Judy Crane, 471-3262.
■ The Amistad Marco Polo Club meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday att 67 San Marco Ave. The Amistad Marco Polo Club is a social club for people who have lived or traveled overseas, or who are interested in overseas travel, and would like to get to know others with similar experiences and interests. ■ The Flagler County Stamp and Coin Club meets today at the VFW, Old Kings Road, Palm Coast. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the meeting begins at 6 p.m. Free stamps and coins for kids, and free appraisals.
■ The St. Augustine Shores Recreation Association main dance social The 60’s continues from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Riverview Club with music by Reministyz. Hosts are Dennis and Kathy Salvati. Reservations are Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Riverview Club. Members and house guests $5; non-members $10. BYOB and snacks. Information: 471-6782
■ The Military Officers Association of America, Ancient City Chapter, meet at noon Thursday at the Holiday Isle Oceanfront Hotel, 860 Beach A1A Blvd., St. Augustine Beach. Speakers will be State Rep. Bill Proctor and Florida State Sen. John Thrasher. Lunch is $15 and will be served promptly at noon. All honorably discharged U.S. military officers are eligible for membership and welcome to attend this meeting, the last of the season. ■ The Democratic Club of Flagler County will hear Daytona News-Journal columnist Mark Lane discuss “Maps and Directions: Looking Back on Florida’s 2012 Legislative Session” during the 7 p.m. Tuesday meeting at the Windsor of Palm Coast Retirement Community, 50 Town Court.
